Bringing Healthcare to Your Doorstep
Al-Mustafa Welfare Society regularly organizes free medical camps across Pakistan, targeting remote areas where access to basic healthcare is limited. These camps provide essential services, including consultations, counselling, diagnostic tests (such as glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, blood group, and BMI), and free medications. By reaching out to 2 million people living in underserved areas, we aim to address health issues before they escalate, ultimately reducing the strain on larger healthcare facilities. We have yet conducted around 2,880 free camps across Pakistan.
Before setting up a camp, our volunteers conduct a thorough field examination to assess the local health conditions in collaboration with local authorities and health officials. Based on their findings, we deploy a team of specialized physicians, including dermatologists, gynaecologists, paediatricians, and general practitioners, ensuring that the specific healthcare needs of the community are met.
Focus on Cataract Surgeries
Since 2006, Al-Mustafa has organized over 770 free cataract surgery camps, particularly in suburban areas lacking adequate health facilities. Our team of surgeons examines patients and performs surgeries in mobile operation theatres, providing patients with free prescribed medicines and sunglasses post-surgery, thus restoring their sight and improving their quality of life.
Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery Camps
We have successfully conducted more than 356 camps to provide free cleft lip and palate surgeries, primarily in economically disadvantaged regions. Our expert surgical teams perform these essential plastic surgeries in mobile theatres, transforming lives and fostering greater community awareness about this often-stigmatized condition.
Free Dental Camps
In response to the alarming increase in oral diseases, including cancer due to poor hygiene practices and tobacco use, Al-Mustafa Welfare Society has established a Mobile Dental Unit. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, this unit travels to underdeveloped areas, providing free dental treatments, medications, and counseling. Our volunteers educate communities on oral hygiene practices, the importance of nutrition, and the health risks associated with tobacco use.
Emergency Medical Camps
Al-Mustafa Welfare Society is committed to responding immediately to disasters and emergencies. Our medical teams are mobilized to set up camps during crises, providing essential medical services to affected individuals, thereby supporting local authorities and communities in times of need.
Blood Donation Camps
Blood donations are vital for supporting critically ill patients, particularly those suffering from thalassemia who require frequent transfusions. Al-Mustafa Welfare Society organizes blood donation campaigns at universities and community centres to encourage participation, particularly among youth. We educate donors on the health benefits of blood donation and provide them with results of screening tests performed on their donations.
Medical Camps in Prisons
Recognizing the rights of all individuals, including prisoners, Al-Mustafa Welfare Society also organizes medical camps in various jails across Pakistan. Many of these facilities are overcrowded and underfunded, leading to poor health conditions for inmates. Through our camps, we strive to provide essential medical care and ensure that prisoners receive the basic healthcare services they deserve, regardless of their circumstances.
A Tradition of Service
Over the years, Al-Mustafa Welfare Society has successfully organized numerous medical camps in response to natural disasters such as the earthquakes in 2005 and the devastating floods in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2022. Our extensive network of volunteers from diverse fields enables us to deliver first aid and emergency care effectively during crises, always committed to serving humanity without discrimination.
Through these initiatives, we strive to expand access to healthcare services, foster healthier communities, and ensure that no one is left without necessary medical support.
